Bettye Joyce Brooks Obituary: First Lady Emeritus of the Tree of Life Missionary Baptist Church Has Passed Away
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Mother Bettye Joyce Brooks, First Lady Emeritus of the Tree of Life Missionary Baptist Church. Her transition marks the end of an earthly era, but the glorious beginning of her heavenly reward.
Mother Brooks, alongside her beloved husband, the founder, the late great Rev. Dr. Cato Brooks, Jr., formed the very cornerstone of our ministry. They were the unwavering shoulders upon which the Tree of Life was built and continues to stand. Their partnership was a divine blueprint, a testament to faith in action. Through their dedication, countless sacrifices, and steadfast trust in God, they nurtured a vision into the vibrant spiritual family we are blessed to be today. The walls of our church echo with her prayers, her grace, and her enduring love.

As we mourn her physical absence, we also celebrate a life immaculately lived in service to the Lord and His people. Her legacy is not merely in memory, but in the living, breathing body of Christ that continues to grow from the foundation she helped lay.
In this time of grief, we humbly ask for your continued prayers for the Davis and Brooks families, and for our entire Tree of Life church family. May God’s perfect peace, which surpasses all understanding, comfort every heart. We find solace knowing she is now reunited with her husband in eternal glory, hearing the words, “Well done, thy good and faithful servant.”
