For years, Wendy was the heart of the Senior Center, transforming it from a facility into a true community hub filled with laughter, activity, and care. Her leadership was defined by a personal touch, ensuring every participant felt valued and seen. She was not just an administrator; she was a friend, advocate, and source of joy for countless Murray County residents.

Wendy’s deep family ties to county service make this loss felt acutely across our departments. She was the proud mother of Connor Elrod of the Murray County Fire Department and mother-in-law to Ashlyn Elrod of the Murray County District Attorney’s office. We hold Connor, Ashlyn, and all of Wendy’s loved ones in our hearts, asking the community to join us in keeping them in your thoughts and prayers during this unimaginably difficult time.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Peeples Funeral Home of Chatsworth, GA. The family will receive friends at a memorial service on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM. A funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home.
